Ever Thought About Calling a New Country Home?

An interesting blog post that took notice of this website and the idea that it might be time to start considering our options.

About fafc

The goal of the “Find a Free Country Project” is to research, explore and find a safe and secure free country outside the USA, that is not too large, has a relatively open immigration policy, has a friendly business climate, has a non-intrusive government committed to freedom, and then move to it.

Good article. After Australia’s recent election, perhaps they should go on the list of places to consider. They have their own TEA Party, and they basically just won the election down there! ◄Dave►

I think I would trust them more if the Aussies weren’t so damned faddish. One day they are all greenies, the next day tea party folks. I don’t think they can be trusted. If nothing else I would take a wait and see attitude. If you like I will add Australia to the list, but only if you or someone else is interested in moderating it.

No need to add it. I suppose I was reacting to some of the concerns addressed in the article, regarding modernity. When I lived in the Seychelles Islands, I lost a good friend who died of gaseous gangrene in the primitive hospital, after breaking his leg in a motorcycle accident. When I visited him a couple of days after the accident, he still had dirty road rash wounds and flies buzzing around the room. A couple of days later he was dead.

It just occurred to me that if our election last year had turned out as well as Australia’s just did, we might not be as anxious to abandon our modern but leaking ship, to take a chance on making it to shore in a tippy canoe that isn’t. Another modern ship that just got its bilge pumps working again, might just be worth considering instead. 🙂 ◄Dave►

I have been thinking about it and researching for a long time, and I plan to leave Croatia in the next year or so, I have made a shortlist of 5 countries, and I will make a decision on where to go in the coming couple of months.

    I will!
