“I love this country but we have a management team that’s both evil and incompetent. And the way “stockholder rights” are implemented there’s absolutely no way to stop or even slow down the rush to misery. I wish people had the choice of voting with their feet. This tends to keep the individual states somewhat honest in their dealings with citizens because they have to compete against 49 other states. But there’s no escaping the fed. It’s like a startup where everyone is miserable but no one is allowed to quit.” (emphasis added)
A very good brief article that you should read in full. But I just wanted to point out he is wrong in regards to the sentences above. He acknowledges how people have been voting with their feet in regards to the States (say from California, New York, Illinois to Texas, Arizona, etc.), but says “there’s no escaping the fed.” This is simply incorrect. Across the world there is a competition for good people in order to create good countries. Some countries do better than others.
Also, in the article he suggests that you have to abandon your citizenship to leave. This is not really the case.
There are choices. We can vote with our feet. And I intend to do so.
