If America Was A Startup We’d All Quit

us-deadpool“I love this country but we have a management team that’s both evil and incompetent. And the way “stockholder rights” are implemented there’s absolutely no way to stop or even slow down the rush to misery. I wish people had the choice of voting with their feet. This tends to keep the individual states somewhat honest in their dealings with citizens because they have to compete against 49 other states. But there’s no escaping the fed. It’s like a startup where everyone is miserable but no one is allowed to quit.” (emphasis added)

A very good brief article that you should read in full. But I just wanted to point out he is wrong in regards to the sentences above. He acknowledges how people have been voting with their feet in regards to the States (say from California, New York, Illinois to Texas, Arizona, etc.), but says “there’s no escaping the fed.” This is simply incorrect. Across the world there is a competition for good people in order to create good countries. Some countries do better than others.

Also, in the article he suggests that you have to abandon your citizenship to leave. This is not really the case.

There are choices. We can vote with our feet. And I intend to do so.

About fafc

The goal of the “Find a Free Country Project” is to research, explore and find a safe and secure free country outside the USA, that is not too large, has a relatively open immigration policy, has a friendly business climate, has a non-intrusive government committed to freedom, and then move to it.

He acknowledged the possibility of emigrating, but articulated the reasons most people wouldn’t consider it. ◄Dave►

Well I think he was being a little over dramatic: “But leaving America means renouncing your citizenship, moving out of the country and leaving family and friends behind. You can retain your citizenship if you like, but you’ll still be away from loved ones and still be paying taxes. You lose all the good stuff about America and have to keep all the bad stuff.”

This simply is not true. You don’t have to give up your citizenship, and there are huge advantages to simply moving to another country, including tax benefits. There are airplanes, etc. that take you all around the world, and communication is so good in most places that living on the other side of the planet isn’t that much different than living in another state. The fact that most people won’t consider something doesn’t make it correct. Or wise. Most people are ignorant about these issues. The goal of this website is to educate and inform that ignorance, not encourage it.
