This may not be the end all in regards to thinking about a place to live, but if you want to operate a business this is something to think about.

One thing to consider when looking at lists like this that there are (major) differences even within the same countries, for example in Canada’s case Alberta is way more business friendly than Quebec, in Switzerland’s case the various cantons have different tax rates, in Portugal’s case the autonomous regions of Madeira and the Azores have lower tax rates than the rest of Portugal, etc.
Even though I would have ranked some countries differently, I still think that this list is generally accurate.

Georgia is 6th in the latest ranking.

very cool. I complain a lot about Georgia, but in regards to business formation and operation it is one of the best countries on earth. In fact they just came up with a some revisions of the Independent Entrepreneur filing and there is a flat 1% tax on the receipts of the business which are automatically taken out of your bank account with each deposit. So only one tax filing a year to more or less confirm that you deposited what was deposited, and you have already paid the 1% tax. A 1 page form for your signature. If only they could sign it for me!!!!!
😀
That must be nice, in Croatia we have a thousand insane regulations that exist for no other reason than to fine businesses and thus finance the public sector moochers, so business operation is far from easy.
