Is Denmark (Europe and the Western World) on the Brink… of what?

An interesting interview with a Danish journalist about what is happening in Denmark, but I found this quote chilling:

“In 2015 I wrote an article criticizing our politicians who for the most part hate Christianity but nevertheless use Christian values, especially charity and compassion, to promote their own agendas, in particular mass immigration. So I called them out on that.

A few months later I got a call from a politician here who told me that I was on a government blacklist, supposedly acting as a pro-Russian propagandist agent, despite having absolutely no evidence to that effect. I occasionally work for a Russian news outlet, but that’s simply my job as a journalist.

Today, in a society where supposedly there is freedom of speech, if politicians want to silence their critics they simply accuse them of working for the Kremlin, or having some unexplained ties with Russia. That is what happened to me, and it also happening to high profile politicians and journalists in the US, France and Germany. If you don’t agree with the multicultural policies of Europe then you are labeled a Russian agent. Which is really a form of political or character assassination.

They are so afraid of the rise of what leftist politicians in Europe call “populism”, which threaten the existence of their beloved European Union. And this year the stakes are very high with elections in France and Germany. So they resort to these kinds of tactics to quash any dissenters.

So I find myself in a blacklist in a supposedly free country like Denmark, but if a conflict with Russia emerges I can end up in prison under the pretext of being a foreign agent. Again, with no proof and no judicial process. This is very much how totalitarian societies operate. First they put you on a list, then when there is a problem or a made-up reason they will come for you.”

Her conclusion:

ET: So, is Denmark on the brink? Indeed, is the rest of Europe on the brink?

IT: Yes, Denmark is on the brink. And Europe is on the brink. We completely lost our culture, our values and our moral compass. What used to be good is now evil and vice-versa.

You mentioned Denmark being the happiest country in the world but I am not sure that is true. We have high alcohol consumption and about half a million people on happy pills for a reason.

Channel 1, our main TV channel here, recently aired a documentary on three Danish girls who converted to Islam out of their own will, not because they got married or anything like that. They all had the same background, coming from broken homes, dealing with alcoholism and so forth – basically part of the legacy of the 1968 revolution we had across Europe. What these girls lacked was structure, and they found it in Islam because it regulates all aspects of your life: how you dress, what you eat, with whom you can socialize with, how to pray, how to interact as a wife and so on.

That is what the right-wing parties in Europe don’t understand. This is a spiritual battle. There is no political freedom without spiritual freedom. If you go around just forbidding things, like don’t wear the head cloth and so forth, it will not work. Our civilization will gradually disappear.

The only thing that can save Europe right now is a true spiritual, dare I say Christian, revival across the Continent. This played a significant role in the demise of communism in the Soviet Union and East Germany. The churches there provided hidden venues for people to congregate, express ideas and share their faith and hardships.

Since its inception Christianity was always about fighting evil with love, prayer and faith because these three are the key to freedom. And these are the values that the radical left and radical Islam do not tolerate, because of course both demand total obedience to the state and their conception of God, respectively.

In the absence of any traditional culture or religion, people are reaching out to something that provides them with some structure and stability.

She is right about the (leftist) politicians using “Christian values” to advance their agenda and about there being a “spiritual void” in Europe, but I think that a “Christian revival” is highly unlikely (apart from (maybe) the Polish Catholic Church and a few others, almost all other Churches of consequence in Europe have a leadership that is either anti-Christian or just not up to the task), and I am not sure it would be desirable either, Christianity had it’s chance, it failed, so something new is needed to fill that “spiritual void”, something that doesn’t have the weaknesses that Christianity has.

As for the similarities between “liberal democracy” and communism, this is a good book on the subject: https://www.amazon.com/Demon-Democracy-Totalitarian-Temptations-Societies/dp/1594038635

    • fafc says:

The universe hates a vacuum. Clearly Christianity, at least as traditionally considered, is dead in Western Europe. And today the only other options are Islam or Secular Socialism. But what if something else arises from the ashes of Post-Christian Europe? I have no idea what this could be like, but I suspect the same thing could have been said during the rise of Christianity. Something is going to fill the void. What will it be?

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

“Secular socialism” is unsustainable, and it really isn’t spiritual, so it isn’t the thing that will fill the “spiritual void” left by Christianity.

As for Islam, it might eventually, but I am far from convinced that it will, there are dozens of sects and sub-sects in Islam, and they in general hate or dislike each other, and even within the same sects you have fierce ethnic hatred (the Turks and Kurds for example are both Sunni for the most part, but still hate each other), therefore there is no Islamic unity and even if there was, they still don’t make up more than 10% of the population in any Western European country, so they won’t have the numbers to Islamize Western Europe by neither democratic nor non-democratic means anytime soon, and considering the image Islam has in Europe, I can’t see millions of Germans, Italians, etc. all of a sudden deciding to convert to Islam.

As for something new emerging to replace Christianity, that would be my bet, but I see no such movement on the horizon yet.

        • fafc says:

Maybe we should start one? If I had to choose a religion I think I would choose Sikh. A very interesting religion almost devoid of strange dogma and superstition. The level of religious conviction and observance is purely voluntary without any stigma to those who choose to be less observant.

  2. Croatian Capitalist says:

It’s an idea worth considering, for the tax exemptions and other benefits registering as a religious group offers if nothing else.

Isn’t Sikhism limited to Indians? I have never seen or heard of an non-Punjabi/Indian Sikh. If I “had” to choose a religion, I would probably become a Zoroastrian, but my “problem (one of them anyway)” with religion(s), or better said/written the reason why I am not a member of any religion, is the fact that even if you find a religion whose tenets you wholly or mostly agree with, you find plenty of members of that religion who don’t follow that religion’s tenets even remotely accurately (Look at todays “Christians” for example, even on issues that are clear-cut in scriptures they do the complete opposite of what it says (and this is done even by many Churches, not just the common rank and file!)!), so you get grouped with people who’s everyday actions are opposite to your beliefs.

    • fafc says:

Sikhism is not limited to Indians, but they do not evangelize. So you have to rather work hard to figure out how join. Read up on their tenets. They encourage bravery, honesty, and kindness. They do not punish failure but do not reward hypocrisy. A very open minded religion if you ask me. Maybe we should just copy it!

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Being “open-minded” is what got the Western World into it’s current predicament, so I don’t regard that as a good thing.

As for it’s tenets, even though some of them are good (the prohibitions on intoxicants for example), overall I don’t think it’s a religion fit for the Europeans of the 21st century and beyond, because it has some of the same weaknesses that Christianity has and it would eventually be used against the West in the same way.

This means that probably at least another million Syrians will come to Germany.

Apart from maybe in Poland (and only if they separate from the Vatican completely), Christianity has no future in Europe, any religion with such leadership is doomed to failure.

I have no doubt that this will pass, German politicians seem intent on turning Germany into a third World country.

Australia’s multiculturalism model is ‘failing’ – with new figures showing 25% of some immigrant groups can’t speak English at all: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5470533/Citizenship-Minister-warns-Australian-multiculturalism-failing.html

“Multiculturalism” can’t end in anything other than in failure, that was obvious to anyone with a functioning brain from the get go.

It’s no wonder people are leaving the catholic church in droves.

    • fafc says:

It is funny that there are worse out there than the Catholics. Anglicans have been joining the Catholic Church in an entire congregations. There is a Catholic church in Houston that was once an Anglican/Episcopalian church, and the entire congregation decided to join the Catholic Church. Various dispensations were made allowing the married priests to remain, deacons and members to have more autonomy, etc. However, as you point out the the Catholic Church is also turning away from its core beliefs. I know a Catholic who has converted to Orthodoxy for that very reason. People are so looking for traditional beliefs to ground their lives in, and our institutions are failing them.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

More or less all of the major modern Christian sects/churches are useless, orthodoxy included, they might appear more traditional, but that is only a facade, there are millions of illegal immigrants in Russia, but does the Russian orthodox church raise a voice against it? No. Greece is one of the main entry points for the third World invasion into Europe, does the Greek orthodox church raise it’s voice against it? No, on the contrary, it welcomes the third World invaders with open arms.

        • fafc says:

I don’t have much respect for Orthodox Christianity. It seems to do little more than capture undeserved money from desperately poor people, and in turn offer little more than outrageously expensive churches, beekeepers, and wine makers (the last two which I do appreciate).

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

In any case, apart from maybe in Poland and a few other countries, I seriously doubt that Christianity in Europe has a future, the vast majority of churches in Europe and the Western World in general have betrayed their own people and no matter how this situation with the third World invasion of the West ends, I very much doubt that the treachery of the churches will be forgiven and forgotten.

    • fafc says:

      However will Denmark continue?

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

I don’t think this changes anything in regards to Denmark’s fate, but if Greenland does become fully independent, it will be one less place where everyday Danes can freely move to to escape the third World invasion of Denmark proper.

        • fafc says:

True. But I doubt most Danes are escaping to Greenland. Most I hear from are going to Thailand.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

I would think those would be retirees mostly, the Thais aren’t really open to letting many young(er) foreigners permanently settle in Thailand, not to mention that Thai is one of the most difficult languages to learn, and without knowing the language you can’t get naturalized, and if you do, you have to give up your old citizenship.

          • fafc says:

No. Mostly young “Digital Nomad” types who pretty much disregard reality and do whatever they think is “cool” and then complain when it doesn’t work out quite right. Idiots in other words. But Thailand is great for sex and drugs, and that seems to be the only things most Europeans care about.

  8. Croatian Capitalist says:

Well, those types leaving is good, I wish that all leftists would leave Europe and the rest of the Western World for places like Thailand, South Africa, Laos, India, Venezuela, etc., then the Western World could really be made great again.

  9. Croatian Capitalist says:

    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/07/14/european-catholic-bishops-meet-to-plan-pro-immigration-media-offensive/

The various church leaders seem to be doing their hardest to make sure that Christianity (organized Christianity anyway) has no future in Europe.

    • fafc says:

Indeed. The only choice Europeans have available to them is the Radical Left or Islam… or both.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Hopefully something better will appear instead, but in any case, I think that for the purposes of this website the vast majority of the West is lost, even if the UK, Sweden, etc. ever again become countries worth considering, it will be in the far future, also lets not forget that the third world invasion is just one out of the many problems the majority of Western countries have, I mean all of third worlders could decide to leave France tomorrow, but France would still be a country where the majority thinks that it is fine and fair to tax successful people with 90% tax rates, the third worlders could all leave the UK and Sweden tomorrow and those countries would still deny basic biology, etc.

Even rural Norway is getting “culturally enriched” thanks to the “liberals”.
