The Decline and Fall of the EU

An interesting (if a bit long and confusing) article about some of the underlying economic pressures that may rip the EU apart.

“The abandonment of the EU by Britain looks like a stroke of luck – for Britain, if she can extricate herself in time. It exposes the EU for what it is: a failing post-war project. An agglomeration of disparate nations, cobbled together, planned by America in the post-war years, now finds the new American President no longer supports it. The parent is abandoning its child, and so is Britain, American’s closest strategic partner…

That’s probably what galls Langley most: Russia and China are becoming powerful enough to overturn American hegemony in Europe, not through military prowess, but through economic power. China, with Russia in tow, is destabilising America’s post-war regime, and America is losing her grip on global dominance. Her post-war European project has lost its relevance. The European Union will begin to decline both in political importance and in nominal GDP terms when Britain leaves. Compared with the resurgence of the Sino-Russian axis, it will continue to decline in relative terms as well…

The ECB is running out of options in its battle to keep the Eurozone from collapsing. The only tool the ECB has left to defray this inevitability is yet more monetary expansion, which will eventually undermine the euro. When that happens, those that have moved their deposits from too-big-to-fail banks in Italy, Spain and elsewhere into the German, Luxembourg and the Dutch banks will have found only temporary respite. As with all bad ideas, the EU and its currency will find monetary or systemic collapse is the final consequence of all constructions founded on fallacious expediency.”

I think it’s not a matter of whether the EU will collapse or not, but when and how much damage it will do to Europe before it does, and the Russians and Chinese have nothing to do with it, the coming EU collapse will entirely be the responsibility of the idiots running it in Bruxelles.

  2. fafc says:

Indeed. We now see there is nothing left of Western Europe. France, the UK, Germany, Sweden, etc. They are all already dead. As you said it is only a matter of who else they pull down with them.

  3. Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, they all seem too be too far gone, and even if they ever do return to sanity, it will happen so far into the future to render it irrelevant for the purposes of this website.

  4. Croatian Capitalist says:

EU launches legal cases against Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic for not taking in “refugees”: https://www.rt.com/news/392080-eu-legal-action-refugees/

    The EU is a disgrace.

    • fafc says:

Well let’s see what the Eastern Europeans do with this. The EU is nothing other than a tit that they suckle. Once the tit runs dry? But on the other hand withdrawing from the EU or being kicked out is a fancy bit of propaganda to use against political opponents of the Left who are in control of the EU.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes. as bad as situations such as this one are on their own, for the purposes of this website they are good, because they clearly show which countries to avoid (Germany, France, etc.), and they force countries that appear to be at least OK options (Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary in this case) to show how serious they actually are about protecting their own sovereignty.

        • fafc says:

I suspect as Western Europe collapses in on itself and becomes a vast a powerful European Caliphate, Eastern Europe will be swallowed up who either by the Caliphate, the Turkish Sultanate, or Mother Russia.

  5. Croatian Capitalist says:

Apart from the Serbs and maybe the Bulgarians, I think that the Eastern Europeans would mostly vote against the Russian option if given the choice…

  6. Croatian Capitalist says:

This is (very) worrying: http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/09/13/juncker-we-need-fully-fledged-eu-army-2025/ and http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/09/13/state-union-juncker-brits-regret-brexit-proposes-new-eu-super-president/

So, the unelected loons running the EUSSR plan to create a (new red) army (and since they are openly saying that they have no intention of defending the EU’s borders, it is obvious what the EU army will be used for…), keep the EU borders open for the entire third World and take financial independence away from the individual member states.

Unless the smarter Eastern European countries leave the EU soon, I think it will be time for sane people to leave the EU and any country that has a realistic chance of joining it for good.

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/12/18/eu-white-mass-migration-norm/

The EU is openly admitting it is anti-Western, the collapse of the EU can’t come soon enough.

  9. Croatian Capitalist says:

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/01/29/brussels-brink-czech-president-reelection-eu-referendum/

I hope it will happen, for civilization to survive in Europe, the EUSSR has to collapse.

  10. Croatian Capitalist says:

Regardless of what the end goal of all of this EU lunacy that is being forced on the population is, I really don’t know how they intend to pay for it in the long run, lets take France as an example, it has been running budget deficits every year since the the 1970’s, it’s trade deficit runs in the tens of billions of euros, it has a giant public debt, the cost of the crime committed by third worlders and the welfare given to them is at least in the tens of billions euros every year, 12000 millioners left France in 2016 (and every year it’s a similar number). etc., so it’s only a matter of time before it all comes crashing down, actually I think that the only thing keeping the parasitical system in France (and in Croatia as well (20% of GDP)) afloat is tourism (10% of GDP), as the third world population continues to rise and terrorist attacks become more frequent, the tourists will start to avoid France and I think that is when the whole rotten system will come crashing down.

  11. Croatian Capitalist says:

Well, looking at that picture, what we used to call West Germany certainly does seem to be in a predicament, but even ignoring the civilizational clash (or whatever you want to call it), the EU is going to collapse sooner or later, because it just isn’t financially viable, the 3 main contributors to the EU budget are the UK, France and Germany, the UK is leaving the sinking ship, France as I showed above would probably collapse if the tourist euros stopped flowing in, and while Germany does still have a strong economy, it won’t be able to carry the the whole of the EU on it’s shoulders for that long, not to mention that just the fake refugees they let in the last few years will cost them at least 20 billion euros each year, and many of Germany’s best and brightest people are leaving the country because of Merkel’s lunacy.

  12. Croatian Capitalist says:

In any case, interesting times are ahead for Germany, France, Sweden and similar countries.

  13. Croatian Capitalist says:

Another thing to note is that the vast majority of third worlders in Europe are mostly concentrated in the large cities (London, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona, etc.), so even if one day they do become the majority, the vast majority of territory and more importantly farmland will still be in the hands of Europeans, so Balkanization might be what actually ends up happening.

  14. Croatian Capitalist says:

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/02/23/merkel-eu-funds-third-world-migration/

The EU literally wants to blackmail countries into accepting third worlders.

  15. Croatian Capitalist says:

Some good news from Italy: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5462799/EU-facing-nightmare-scenario-Italy-election.html

The openly leftist parties have never gotten a smaller percentage of the votes in Italy than in this election, hopefully this is a step in the direction of the EU’s dissolution.

  16. Croatian Capitalist says:

Instead of bringing “doctors”, “nuclear physicists”, etc. from Syria, Somalia, Libya, etc. like Germany is doing, the Japanese are turning to robots: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/09/foreigners-could-ease-japans-labor-shortage-but-tokyo-prefers-robots.html

    Smart move.

  17. Croatian Capitalist says:

I am not sure if I have mentioned this before, but one of the things that I hate about the EU is that it really doesn’t follow through even on some of the few positive things that it’s existence should bring, for example one of the reasons the EU was supposedly created was to remove tarrifs and ensure the free movement of goods between members states, but in reality in many cases it doesn’t really work like that, lets take cars for example, somebody in Germany can buy a good modern car with all of useful extras for lets say 30000 EUR, but if somebody in Croatia wants to buy that same car, he will have probably to pay around at least 50000 EUR (the exact amount depends on various factors, but in most cases it is at least 50% over what ever the price is in Germany), and why is that? Because the socialists in power here just replaced the word “tariff” with “excise tax”, and the EU does nothing to stop such abuse and discrimination.

  18. Croatian Capitalist says:

    More idiocy from Germany: https://www.thelocal.de/20180509/merkel-cabinet-agrees-law-change-to-let-all-refugees-bring-families-to-germany

The Poles and Czechs really should start building walls along their borders with Germany.

I certainly hope that the Italians will cause a crisis, namely by leaving the EU.

  20. Croatian Capitalist says:

    http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/05/02/netherlands-85-refugees-unemployed/

And the numbers are similar elsewhere, these third worlders are supposedly brought into the West to do jobs that Westerners supposedly won’t do, and then the majority of them instead of working live on welfare, making the situation even worse than it was before.

    • fafc says:

But they are doing the jobs Westerners won’t do: having babies!!!! Now unfortunately on paper that looks like a brilliant solution, and it has more or less worked in the USA for about a century, but sadly in Europe they went too fast, and paid too little attention to assimilation. They just brought them in then dumped them in the camps like so many potatoes waiting to be peeled.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

        1) No, even on paper it really doesn’t work, all of the countries which receive massive third world immigration still have below replacement level fertility rates, and number of children the children of those immigrants usually have mirrors more closely native Europeans than their parents.

        2) Europe and the USA really aren’t comparable, the European countries were in general never until recently about immigration (I mean, there are some exceptions, like the Huguenots fleeing actual persecution in France and moving to Protestant countries like England, the Netherlands, Sweden, etc., and they were mostly capable and hard working people, so it was nothing like what is happening today), whilst the USA was about immigration from the start, and until the treasonous Hart-Caller Act of 1965 that immigration was predominantly European and Christian, so of course they didn’t have much trouble assimilating into American society, while today both Europe and the USA are generally godless and bringing in en masse people who are ethnically, culturally, work ethic wise, etc. alien to the Western World, so real assimilation was never really an option to begin with.

If an EU-wide “tax convergence” actually happens, I think that will be my cue to leave this godforsaken continent, I mean, what is the point of moving to Poland or the Czech Republic or Hungary or Estonia and starting a business there if I will be subject to a French-type tax system (which is the worst one in Europe, it even makes the Croatian tax system look sensible) there? The sooner the EU collapses, the better, otherwise it will ruin the whole continent.

So much for Italy, obviously no place to move to even if they get third World immigration under control.

    • fafc says:

Not encouraging, but at least they seem to recognize that a Welfare State does not work well with Open Borders. I personally would prefer reducing the Welfare State and thus removing the attraction they create for the wrong type of immigrants, but Italy has always been a screwed up Fascist/Leftist country. Fewer bad immigrants would at least make it safe to walk the streets… a little bit.

If they are anything like Georgians they are just sucking up to the EU and NATO in the remote hope that something good will come of it for them.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

My opinion is that the vast majority of common people there who support joining the EU look at potential membership in the EU in one of two ways:

        1) As a way to get out of Macedonia legally and either work or live on welfare in Ireland, Germany and Sweden.

        2) EU = rich countries club = first world standards of governance = Macedonia getting fixed and becoming rich.

The first group cannot be reasoned with, since they generally don’t care about Macedonia’s future, the second group could potentially be reasoned with, but I doubt that anyone will make the effort to show them that the bad sides of EU membership far outweigh the good ones (and the few good ones can be gained through bilateral treaties, like in the case of Switzerland, so in reality there is nothing good to be gained by joining the EU).

Poland Offers to Pay Billions for ‘Fort Trump,’ a Russia-Facing Military Base: http://fortune.com/2018/09/18/poland-offers-fort-trump-military-base/

Hm…, I am unsure what to think about this…

    • fafc says:

I understand why Poland wants it. If they don’t have the USA, they have no one to look to. The German military is in worse shape than it was at the end of 1945. The German air force doesn’t exist. Their tanks are not operational. I suppose the Polish can hope for the French and the British. That worked out great last time. The rest of NATO is a mess. I just worry that Poland could do the same thing it did in the 1930s and confuse an alliance on paper for reality on the ground. Perhaps, if the Poles had had a more realistic view of their options, Germany vs Russia, they would have been less hostile to both countries and perhaps had found a way to neutralize the threats. Instead they trusted in the French and the British to disastrous results. Could a US alliance with a small base in Poland do the same? Would it be better for Poland to recognize now that the only real enemy they face is Russia, not nearly the threat they faced during the 1930s, and that they face that threat alone?

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

I understand why they want it too, but intent is not the issue, the issue is whether the pros outweigh the cons in the long run, plus I don’t see Russia as an immediate threat for Poland, while on the other hand air pollution for example kills 50000 Poles each year, so I would rather Poland spent the billions it obviously has available on fixing a problem which will kill around a million Poles over the next 20 years if it is not fixed, than spend billions on a base which doesn’t really change anything in regards to the USA defending Poland unless NATO dissolves, the USA is legally obligated to defend Poland (if Russia or any other non-NATO member attacks it) under article 5 of the NATO charter, so if the USA is willing to defend Poland, it will defend it whether the base is there or not, if it isn’t, the base will be nothing but a giant waste of money.

Plus there are other possible cons; 1. Having a military base of a foreign power on your soil is usually a sign of being a “colony” (the USA, Russia and China have no foreign military bases on their soil), so not really a mark of a serious country. 2. Sadly American soldiers stationed in overseas military bases have committed horrible crimes (murder, rape, etc.) against the local civilian populations in Japan, South Korea, Germany, etc., so there is a high probability that something like that would eventually happen in Poland too (especially since military recruitment standards are probably lower than they have ever been in the USA). 3. Let’s not forget that despite some improvements under Trump, the long-term trends are clear, the USA is becoming increasingly anti-Western (ethnic Europeans will probably become a minority in the USA within 20 years and the anti-Western slant of the media and “educational” establishments only becomes worse with each passing year), so it wouldn’t surprise if the troops at that base were eventually used to help Bruxelles “diversify” Poland.

        Etc.

So in conclusion, yes, if I were in charge of Poland, I would most likely prepare Poland’s defensive strategy (and I wouldn’t just focus on Russia, in fact I consider the possible EU army a bigger threat to Poland if it ever gets formed) under the assumption that nobody will help Poland.

    https://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/09/19/european-bishops-decry-mentality-that-views-immigrants-as-foreigners/

I think that Christianity in Europe is generally finished as a serious force, even if Europe somehow avoids becoming Muslim, almost all of the Christian denominations in Europe are so tainted that nobody in his or her right mind wants or will want to have anything to do with them.

  31. Croatian Capitalist says:

Speaking/writing of religion, now that you have lived in Georgia for some time, what is your opinion of the Georgian Orthodox Church?

    • fafc says:

Not much. I think it does very little to help Georgia, but neither is it a terribly negative influence either. It provides very little guidance on a personal level or a national level. I am not sure if this is out of fear of being accused of “interfering” in the nation, or just part of the Orthodox attitude. Georgians are very “religious”, but this usually involves little more than crossing themselves profusely whenever they see a church, and buying little iconic stickers from the church to put on their doors, cars, kitchen appliances, etc., and lighting candles occasionally. There seems to be no sense of the Church being there to guide Georgians in their personal life. Divorces are sky high, and other anti-social behavior continues without comment from the Church. The Church does get a little irritated at people playing loud music. The Church itself does little more than marry people, raise bees, and make extremely good brandy. Could be worse.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, it could be worse, like in Russia where the church is an agency of the mafia state, or in England where the church is actively working on destroying England.

        • fafc says:

Well at least the Russian church is not working to destroy Christianity. They may be guilty of getting too involved in politics by Western standards, but at least they are picking the right side.

          • fafc says:

Ah so was Merkel and everyone else who lived within the Soviet Union or the Warsaw Pact. It was just how life was. You sold out your father, and he sold out his brother. I think the real problem is that Europeans have developed an unreasonable allergy to religion, even among people who promote the growth of religion. Conservatives in Europe (if there are such things) promote the importance of religion, but don’t want religion to actually do anything, particularly in politics. That works ok in the USA but European countries were built upon a religious framework that made it an integral part of the society and politics. This has been ripped out of Europe, and replaced with nihilism and hedonism. Religion in Europe needs to be replaced with something positive that can take its place. I personally think religion is probably the easiest thing to fit in the religion size hole.

  32. Croatian Capitalist says:

We live in the year 2018, communists or their agents should be nowhere near politics or religious leadership, Merkel being a good example of why.

I agree that most people in Europe need to be a part of something positive in order for society to be healthy, but that ship has sailed for Christianity, almost all of the major churches in Europe have become way too tainted for anyone with any sense to want to have anything to do with them, and “secular humanism” or whatever you want to call the garbage ideology of the “liberals” was never positive to begin with. I don’t see any positive ideology on the horizon in Europe.

Romania marriage poll: Referendum to ban gay unions fails:

“Just 20.4% of eligible voters cast ballots – short of the 30% needed.”

“The result may come as a surprise, as a poll on Friday indicated support for the change was as high as 90%.”

So basically the vast majority of Romanians are too lazy to take a five minute walk to their local voting station and do the right thing, that kind of attitude bodes ill for Romania’s future.

In any case, Romania is another country I won’t be moving to.

    • fafc says:

Oh, these referendum never get very high turn out unless they are connected with another important vote. I have no great confidence in Romania, but I wouldn’t make my decision based on one failed vote that had more to do with procedural issues than anything else. This is a popular issue even if the referendum failed. I don’t doubt some politician will pick up the ball and run with it. Now to see how the EU tries to stop that.

Bulgaria is yet another country to avoid, it is the most corrupt country in the EU and only maybe Ukraine and Russia are more corrupt in the whole of Europe.

    • fafc says:

I think you are looking for too much perfection. Nothing is perfect. Every place is going to have flaws. I actually rather liked Sofia, Bulgaria, and I like the attitude of the Bulgarians in regards to the EU. They take what they want from the EU, and then give the middle finger to them when they don’t like what they are being sold. They don’t make a lot of noise about it like Hungary, but they are not interested in being bullied by the EU or anyone. Is there corruption in Bulgaria? I don’t doubt it. But these things happen everywhere, but just in Bulgaria.

    • fafc says:

Hehehehehe! The Georgians are going to be so pissed! They think they are a shoe in for membership. Poor stupid bastards.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Albania are all likely to become members of the EU before Georgia even becomes an official candidate for membership, the Georgians are kowtowing to the EU for nothing.

        • fafc says:

Indeed. They are not just kowtowing but severally injuring their economy and creating profound security risks for themselves all without getting anything.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Well, hopefully they will come to their senses before it is too late, ironically, Russia occupying Abkhazia and South Ossetia might turn out to be a blessing in disguise, since it makes Georgia’s admission into the EU much more difficult.

Anyway, I don’t know how interesting of a potential emigration destination it might be, but we could see a new country on the map soon, and the upcoming referendum seems to have flown under the media radar (I came across the article by accident): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Caledonian_independence_referendum,_2018

          • fafc says:

Hahaha! I am not a big fan of islands, and I am even less fond of “new” countries popping out of nowhere. Just too unstable and prone to radical changes. But it should be worth watching.

  35. Croatian Capitalist says:

I am not too fond of islands in the middle of nowhere (I think that New Caledonia is thousands of kilometers away from both Australia and New Zealand) either, but on the other hand, the more time passes, the more I think that it would be smart to get as far away from Europe as possible, or at least get residency papers of some country that is unlikely to be negatively affected by the chaos that will likely engulf Europe in the coming decades, so I would welcome these overseas departments of European countries becoming independent countries.

    • fafc says:

As an emergency sort of place I would go with Paraguay right now. I know I was very negative on Paraguay in the past, but that was due to my experiences in the early 1990s. It has improved dramatically, and is worth considering… at least as a fall back.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Why Paraguay? What advantage as an emergency emigration destination do you see it having over lets say Argentina?

        • fafc says:

They have made getting a permanent residency very cheap and easy. You fly into Ascencion, hire a lawyer (or not — but I would hire a lawyer — they are very cheap there), file your application pay a rather generous government fee (a few thousand USD), and walk away with a permanent residency visa and tax residency. Taxes are low, and only apply to income earned inside Paraguay, the country is advancing nicely since the death of El Presidente Stroesner, and you have no residency requirement after getting the visa. So you can live anywhere else you want to live and still have your Paraguayan citizenship. And again I have heard it is much nicer than it was 30 years ago.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

That is good to know, thanks! Even though I have no interest in permanently settling in South America, it does seem that in the event of WW III the southern part of South America will be the place to be, since all or at least the vast majority of the major hotspots are likely to be located in the northern hemisphere.

          • fafc says:

That should be Paraguayan residence… but it does lead to citizenship if you want. and Spanish is an easy language to learn.

    • fafc says:

I hate this bullshit about “far right” garbage. The Left in the USA and particularly Western Europe are so FAR LEFT that anyone to the Right of Karl Marx is a far right fanatic. Sad and pathetic. In this case the Brazilian people are just tired of the corruption that is part of all the political parties, regardless of their left-right declarations. They are all crooks. This guy claims to not be a crook. Does that make him ‘Far Right’???? We will see. I hope so.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, the Western media has become totally insane, anyone who isn’t for open borders and other such lunacy gets called “far-right”.

Yes, it would be nice if Brazil finally started going in the right direction, I think that only the USA and Russia are more naturally endowed countries than Brazil, so it’s current state is way below it’s potential.

That is going to be the price Czechs pay to stay part of the EU. How far they take it will be interesting.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Once they legalize it, things can only go downhill.

        • fafc says:

Yes. I am not so much against gay marriage so much as the abandonment of religious marriage and the concept of religion playing a role in the country. Whether gay marriage happens or not the real damage is when religion becomes nothing but a bad joke.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Marriage is one of the foundations of civilization (and thus of a sane society), and legalizing gay “marriage” makes one of the foundations of civilization a joke, and something built on bad foundations can only result in one thing (namely collapse).

Another problem I see is that even if the Czechs and others reject this (like Texas did in the USA for example), the EU will just do what the USA did and force it upon every member state, and like in the USA next to no one will lift a finger to fight it.

          • fafc says:

I agree that marriage the foundation of society. But Europeans abandoned marriage long before the idea of gay marriage came along. This is just putting nails in the coffin. And of course if Czechia decides to stand up for their values, the EU will just come along and knock them down.

  39. Croatian Capitalist says:

New Caledonia will stay a part of France: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-46087053

  40. Croatian Capitalist says:

I agree that the institution of marriage has been in crisis in (Western) Europe since even before the idea of gay “marriage” was taken seriously by anyone, and that the countries that legalize it are just putting the nails in the coffin, which is why the few not completely far gone countries in the EU should fight tooth and nail for marriage and other traditional values, otherwise they will just share the fate of Sweden, France and their like.

  41. Croatian Capitalist says:

Anyway, speaking/writing of things getting forced on sane people against their will, there are many things that annoy me about Croatia, but one of the my top annoyances is the fact that even in the dozens of cities/towns where both the local government (shocking I know) and ordinary people are pro-entrepreneurship, pro-family, etc., the thousands of stupid anti-business national laws, taxes, etc. still apply, so instead of those cities/town being wonderful places to both live and work, they are good for living and just less bad for working than the rest of country, so short of the country going bankrupt and all of the moochers getting layed off and consequently pro-business laws getting enacted on the national level, the only other realistic way of saving the country (or at least parts of it) that I can see is forcing the decentralization of the country through a national referendum on the issue.

    • fafc says:

Churchill supposedly said of the Americans, “They will do the right thing, but only after exhausting all other options.” I think this goes for everyone. It is human nature. Only when there is no other choice will people do the right thing. Why I have come to the point that I don’t really care about what other people think or do, unless it impacts upon me. They will never do the right thing… unless it is their only option.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

        1) Maybe it doesn’t apply to every nation, but I would say that it probably does apply to the vast majority of people here, which doesn’t really help me personally or the country itself, this country has to be fixed in the next decade or two, otherwise it will likely be game over, the country is facing an exodus of youth (and in many cases these are among the most entrepreneurial and/or smartest young Croats), if it continues for another 30 years, there will hardly be anyone left here apart from pensioners and the public sector moochers, so even if Croatia did finally decide to introduce sane laws and policies on the national level in 2050 or 2060, who would care? The people who left in the previous decades (or even half century) would be completely settled in their new homelands and wouldn’t even contemplate returning to a country they long since crossed off, while their children and/or grandchildren likely wouldn’t even consider themselves Croats, so they wouldn’t come here except maybe when vacationing either, therefore you would be left with a country with neither the quantity nor the quality of people to launch a national Renaissance.

        2) I as well generally don’t care what other people think as long as it doesn’t impact me, but that is the problem with democracy, stupid, immoral, etc. people vote for their kind in elections, who then pass laws to make life difficult for sane people, so even if we manage to avoid such people on a personal level, they still unfortunately do manage to influence our lives through voting in the idiotic socialist politicians.

        • fafc says:

When I say I don’t care about what others think. I also try to arrange my life so that their actions can have only limited effect upon me. It is not always so easy. And it does require a different set of internal priorities.

  42. Croatian Capitalist says:

    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1041491/EU-News-Macron-interview-European-Army-plan-France-president-security-Europe-latest

The EU has already proven it has no intention whatsoever of defending it’s borders from invaders, so it’s obvious who they plan to use this army on, Poland and the other sane(r) EU members should leave the EU while they still can and form their own military and economic alliance, otherwise they will share the fate of Western Europe.

    • fafc says:

In all fairness though the French have been talking about this for 30 years or more. And have done nothing. Because they don’t really have an army. Germany is more or less in the same shape. It would be a joke, but its just not funny.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Joke or not, the prospect of an EU army definitely isn’t funny, maybe that is the reason the various Western armies have been reduced to such a poor state, so that the people would support the creation of a well funded and trained EU army, which unlike the various national armies would have absolutely no qualms about using live ammunition on the native people in various member states at the behest of Bruxelles, I am actually starting to wonder if that is the reason so many military aged third world males are being let into the EU.

  43. Croatian Capitalist says:

Anyway, I forgot to add in my post about Croatia’s future that what I wrote was written under the assumption that the EUSSR and/or the treasonous local politicians wouldn’t flood the country with third world invaders, because if they do, that would only accelerate the mass exodus of Croatia’s youth and it would be game over for Croatia way before 2050.

  44. Croatian Capitalist says:

    https://emerging-europe.com/news/lithuanian-constitutional-court-rules-same-sex-spouses-be-granted-residence-permits/

It is almost as if it is a requirement in many countries for constitutional judges to be idiots with no understanding of law.

    • fafc says:

I suspect it is more complicated than that. Once you join the EU you submit to their laws, rules, interpretations, etc. Lithuanian law simply becomes unimportant. It wasn’t the Judge who decided to join the EU. He ‘may’ just be correctly interpreting the law as an EU judge should do. It is what it is.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

This isn’t just a EU thing, they do the same thing in the USA, Taiwan, etc.

        • fafc says:

Exactly. You can be the most conservative judge in Texas, but if Federal law says X, then X it is.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

I wouldn’t say anything against such a judge (unless of course the federal law in question was unconstitutional), but that isn’t the case in these cases, the job of a Constitutional judge is to follow the Constitution of his/her country, and same-sex “marriage” is banned outright by the Lithuanian Constitution, plus when Lithuania adopted it’s Constitution in 1992, homosexuality itself was illegal, so it is clear that the judges’ ruling is in opposition with the Lithuanian constitution, which means they have no place being on that court (or any court for that matter).

The reason given for these stupid rulings is almost always given as that it would be “discriminatory” to rule otherwise, but that is a totally idiotic line of “reasoning”, not letting known terrorists get jobs in nuclear power plants is discriminatory too, isn’t it? Does that mean that the terrorists should be allowed to sue the state, get damages awarded to them, plus be given those jobs? Of course it doesn’t to any sane person, but by the “logic” of these loons in the judiciary it does, and I sadly wouldn’t be surprised to see such a retarded ruling eventually in the USA or Western Europe.

Every sane person and organization on this planet discriminate, it is called having standards, and if you ban having standards, it is pretty obvious what kind of society you will end up with.

          • fafc says:

All I am saying is that if you are part of the EU your country is going to be under immense pressure to toe the EU line on everything, including gay marriage. Its the price you pay, among many prices, for being part of the EU. Hopefully the Brits will man up and leave the EU on March 29th, and start a cascade effect that will bring down the fascist system.

  45. fafc says:

This game idea/scenario has been bouncing around my head for about 2 years, but this weekend for some reason the pieces connected together and I was able to build an Alpha set of rules. Game making is a hobby of mine. I was inspired by Tiny Epic Galaxies but abandoned the dice mechanism (which is the heart of Tiny Epic Galaxies IMHO) for a playing card based mechanic. Otherwise the feel of the game is very similar. I am debating with myself about a few ways of tightening up the game, and adding extra conflict points, but my therapist advises me to stop listening to the voices inside my head. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

  46. Croatian Capitalist says:

That is true, which is why I hope the EU will fall apart soon, as for the UK, even if they leave the EU, I think that you will see the continuation of the EU-type idiocy, the Britain of old is long dead, and as much as it saddens me (since I am a former Anglophile) to write this, I don’t think it is ever going to come back (or at the very least not anytime soon).

As for your game, it is a good idea, but the problem is that it really isn’t a game, it is (likely) the near future, and one I think most people would like to ignore/avoid…

    • fafc says:

Hehehehe! Well I suspect it will not be very popular among some people, and you are probably right. If I want to publish it I better get it done fast before it becomes a reality!

  47. Croatian Capitalist says:

Again, I really hope that the EUSSR will collapse soon, I found out today that the “European Commission (or as I call it the Supreme Soviet of the EUSSR)” is pressuring the Croatian government to introduce a property tax (Croatia is one of the rare countries in the Western World where you actually own your property, instead of paying rent to the government in the form of property taxes (like you do in the USA)), the fact that Croatia doesn’t have a property tax is one of the rare real advantages we have over rest of the Western World, I really think that if this travesty comes to pass, that it will be the straw that broke the horse’s back in regards to whether I emigrate or not, apart from the French we are already probably the most (over)taxed people in the World (my estimate is that the average person who actually works for a living here pays at least 70% of his/her income to the government when all of the direct and indirect taxes are added up), and now they want to take away the security of homeownership away from the people and tax us even more, if I have to pay rent to the government, then I will rather pay it to the Hungarian or Polish ones, than to the communist government here.

Italy has entered a recession and the UK is supposed to leave the EU in less than 2 months, it will be interesting to see in what shape the EU is in later in the year.

    • fafc says:

Indeed. I wonder if the EU will survive the year.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

I hope it won’t, but unfortunately I don’t think that it will collapse that soon, it still has majority support in the vast majority of member states, plus even Brexit isn’t a sure thing.

    • fafc says:

Also, I found a social media website that doesn’t such as much as Twitter and Facebook:

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Good, but I don’t really use social media, I post on this website and on a leftist Croatian one, where I troll the leftists and cause them to go berserk.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, it is good fun, for example some time ago I opened a troll thread praising the great job Trump was doing as president of the USA, and the Balkanian leftists there went absolutely ballistic (who would have thought Trump derangement syndrome was a thing in the Balkans?), the leftists were embarrassing themselves to such a degree that one of the leftist moderators deleted the whole thread. 😀

          • fafc says:

They call them NPCs (from roleplaying games — Non-Player Characters). It fits them so well. They are empty and brainless and just follow whatever instructions they received. Triggering is the real issue. They have no control over themselves. Everything in their life involves external control.

    https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/instant-cost-savings-as-mega-eu-japan-trade-deal-takes-effect

Finally something sane from the EU, even though it means nothing for me personally, because the communists here just replace the word “tariff” with “excise duty”, and this applies even for imports from the rest from the EU, for example a German car which with all the extras costs 38000 Euros in Germany, in Croatia for the basic model of the same car you would pay at least 50000 Euros, it is highway robbery.

  50. Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, I am aware of the term: http://oi63.tinypic.com/15gayas.jpg

    “Liberals” really are insane.

    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/02/12/soros-europe-is-sleepwalking-into-oblivion-will-go-the-way-of-the-soviet-union/

Hopefully it will go the way of the Soviet Union, but now that I think about it, the EUSSR collapsing in itself might not mean that Europe is out of the woods, I believe that most people who are against the EU think that once the EU collapses, that it’s former member states will then go back to being free countries, but I am not so sure, once the USSR collapsed, the CIS was formed and Russia continued to be dominant over the non-Baltic former Soviet Republics well into the 21st century, even today only the Baltic countries and Georgia have really managed to desovietize themselves, but then again the Baltic countries were pretty quick to sign over their sovereignty to the EU, and Georgia is heading in that direction as well, so almost 30 years after the USSR collapsed none of them are out of the woods yet, therefore it really wouldn’t surprise me if some successor organization to the EU was organized in order to keep Europe going in the direction it is going, and even if no such organization was created, organizations such as the ECHR would likely still continue to exist and meddle into the sovereign affairs of European countries.

    • fafc says:

I hope that the EU partially collapses. At the beginning the EU was a force of creative decentralization… by removing internal borders to trade and people individuals were empowered in Europe, and old authoritarian political regimes were weakened. However, the old authoritarian Euro-monster rose up and reasserted itself. Perhaps that centralized monstrosity which is the EURO Zone and Brussels can be toppled while retaining the baby in the bathwater… individual empowerment through internal openness.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

That is another thing I blame the EUSSR for, totally sensible polices like removing trade barriers between European countries, reducing red tape in general between European countries, etc. are all likely to be tossed aside for a very long time once the EUSSR collapses, if the EU was actually pro-European, then it would be a wonderful organization, but the EUSSR has set back the cause of European unity by centuries, if the nations of Europe manage to survive the third world invasion and insane social policies orchestrated by the EUSSR, I seriously doubt that they will be interested in creating a new European Union for at least another century…

  55. Croatian Capitalist says:

Writing of stupid laws, Croatia passed a few today, namely you know when in American movies the police take your car for a car chase or something like that? From today that is legal is Croatia (and good luck getting compensation after you wreck your car), another law (which is unconstitutional under article 34 of the Croatian Constitution, but hardly anyone here seems to care about that) passed basically allows the police to enter your home without probable cause or a warrant (they only have to receive an “order” from somebody higher up, in other words the police can arbitrarily enter your home whenever the local police chief decides to order it).

    • fafc says:

Sounds like Croatia is going back to standard authoritarian policies of the prior century. Sad. But it is why democracy is such a bad thing.

An Obama fan getting elected president of Slovakia, what a disgrace, the only positive I see in this is that unlike in the USA, in Slovakia the presidency is largely a ceremonial office.

    • fafc says:

Between Slovakia and Italy I think Italy is more important. It is only natural for the smaller weaker nations of Eastern Europe to submit to what seems to be unstoppable force from the central authorities in Brussels. In fact it may seem natural and very comfortable.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

I agree that Italy is the more important country (unless you happen to live in Slovakia, which neither of us do).

I don’t think size as such matters, the problem is that many nations have the mentality of serfs, for example if Ukraine joined the EU tomorrow, it would be the 6th largest EU country by population and and the largest EU country by area, but I have no doubt that it would submit to Bruxelles without resistance.

        • fafc says:

Exactly. Probably why they are being pandered to by EU swine, but all the same the place is so screwed up they will never be allowed into the EU until they no longer need the help of the EU.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, but I think Ukraine will always be a failed state, so even as much as I dislike the EUSSR, I don’t think that even they are dumb enough to let Ukraine become a member state.

Poland is trying to get rid of the communist leftovers amongst judges from the time of the Soviet occupation, but as more or less always the EUSSR sides with the communists.

    • fafc says:

Repulsive. Perhaps the EU is not happy with only the UK leaving but wants the rest of Eastern Europe to leave as well?

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

In regards to the UK, it is far from certain that it will leave (it should have already left, but it is still in the EU), as for what the EUSSR leadership hopes to accomplish with it’s behavior towards the V4 countries, I am not sure, considering how much money German companies have invested into the V4 countries, I seriously doubt that the Germans want them to leave, as for electorally, all of this meddling from Bruxelles only works against the local collaborator paries, so I fail to see any real logic behind their actions.

        • fafc says:

I think the EU leaders are starting to realize that it is better to have the UK out than in. Other than the problem of incentivizing the V4 to further resistance the UK is nothing but problems now. I wouldn’t doubt of the EU refuses to grant anymore extensions. As for logic, that is often abandoned when desperation sets in and delusion takes over.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Maybe, but then again perhaps all of this is just a staged performance, as to show the other members (and the British public) that if you try to leave, that all that you will get is chaos, I have little doubt that if a second referendum is held, that the British electorate will vote against Brexit.

          • fafc says:

In all fairness, the real problem with BREXIT has been on the UK side. The May Government has been sabotaging the process for 2 years, and now is caught without a workable bargain.

  59. fafc says:

Some good news for Europe if not for the EU. I am quite confident that most leaders of the EU will see this as bad news.
