The End of the Democratic Party?

An interesting article worth a read even if you disagree (but of course you will never read it then!!!):

“Notice how this man’s entire focus is on demographics, assuming that people of color have nowhere to turn but to the Democrats. There’s no emphasis on any of the issues that allowed a reality tv star to win the Presidency against one of the most well-funded and media supported candidates in American history. The entirety of the above is obsessed with winning elections based on identity politics as opposed to making lives better for tens of millions of suffering Americans. In today’s environment, this is a recipe for political oblivion.”

About fafc

The goal of the “Find a Free Country Project” is to research, explore and find a safe and secure free country outside the USA, that is not too large, has a relatively open immigration policy, has a friendly business climate, has a non-intrusive government committed to freedom, and then move to it.

The Democratic Party might end, as did the communist one in Croatia in 1990, but the communists are still in power, so…

In the USSA it is very different. The Democrats are imploding. They have not only lost the Presidency and the Congress, but more importantly they have lost the State governorships. In a way this is more important. It is on the state level that voting districts are designed, so loss of the States is a real disaster for the Democrats. Once a party loses a state for a certain number of years, it is almost impossible to get it back.

I wish that such people would just move to Venezuela and similar countries, instead of destroying America and other Western countries.

    • fafc says:

Other than my 2 children, I don’t really care anymore. A country of sheep will be ruled by wolves. I just want my kids out, but honestly that is up to them.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

I don’t really care about the USA as such (or most Western countries for that matter) anymore either (and I used to be very pro-American), but still I would prefer the World economy not to be wrecked by the USA turning into another Venezuela.

Yes, it would be good if you could convince them to move to some place which isn’t increasingly resembling the USSR, or at least to get Israeli or some other citizenship which would allow them to leave the USA in the event that the USA does indeed become another Venezuela.

What I wrote above is a reason why I would likely leave Croatia at least for a few years even if it were a sane country (which will (likely) never happen, I used to believe that the majority of people here are the way they are because of 50 years of communist indoctrination and that as time passed, that the mentality would slowly improve until it eventually became Polish-like, but I have since begun taking a closer look at our pre-communist history, and discovered that even during Habsburg times people like me (pro-market, Central European in mentality, etc.) were the absolute minority of the Croatian population (and I have even researched the Croatian emigrants who left Croatia before the communists seized power, and it’s the same story there in the diaspora (you probably didn’t know this, but the “economist” who wrote the economic “plan” that destroyed the Chilean economy under Allende was an ethnic Croat (Pedro Vuskovic), the politican who gave his votes/support to Allende and thus gave him the presidency was also an ethnic Croat (Radomiro Tomic)), so I think that the problem here is genetic, probably the dysgenic effect of the majority of our best people dying over the centuries in the wars against the Ottomans and other enemies (plus the Ottomans had the policy of kidnapping the strongest Christian children from the Balkans (I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more people of Croatian descent in Turkey than in Croatia itself) and forcefully converting them to Islam and making soldiers out them (the Janissaries))), because I think that a smart person should always (if he is in a (position to do so of course) have some safe haven to go to in the event of some (major) disaster (civil war, world war III, a communist revolution, insane taxation policies being passed like in France, etc.), so that you always know you and/or your family have some place to go to, therefore I think that having a second citizenship is a good idea even if there currently isn’t anything seriously wrong with the country you are living in.

There is something to be said for genetic or at least societal tendencies that cannot be easily removed. The Scots are a combative and fiery people, but they also have a history of pro-business even now that they are a socialist basket case. When they leave Scotland they generally integrate very quickly into a capitalist system. For example Georgians have never had a real capitalist system. Before the Soviets there was a very brief period where Georgia was a nascent socialist state. Before that it was comfortable part of the Russian Empire with serfs and aristocrats, and a small smattering of business people — mostly Armenians — who took care of everyone else. If Georgians were not aristocrats or serfs, they were thieves roaming about looking for people to rob, hiding out in the mountains. They have no history of free market capitalism. Which is fine if they were committed to trying to learn, but I think the old ways of robbing and stealing are just too easy to fall back on.

I am not sure if I have recommended this book to you before: https://www.amazon.com/Lonely-Ideas-Russia-Compete-Press/dp/0262019795

Even though the central theme of the book is Putin’s Russia, there is also a description of the Russian mentality during soviet and imperial times, so you find out that the socialist mentality was prevalent in Russia even during imperial times, and thus I have no hope for Russia’s future anymore.

        • fafc says:

Yes. I think Russia is always going to be a mess.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

For as long as the Russians are the majority, it will, and I think that they will eventually lose a lot of territory to the Chinese if they don’t do something soon about the demographic situation, especially in the Russian Far East, where the situation is especially bad.

          • fafc says:

The Russians seem to know this but they are unwilling to make concessions to non-Russians to come in. I think ultimately the Russians are fearful people who hate the outside and the unknown. Better to fade away than to allow foreigners to come in an out do them. Perhaps this is a residual effect of 70 years of communism?

  4. Croatian Capitalist says:

Maybe partially, but after reading quite a bit on Russian history I think that the Russians are basically the same people (mentality-wise) that they were during the so-called Mongol Yoke.

The above is what I think about the common Russians, my opinion on Russia’s leadership is that they are criminals who couldn’t care less about Russia and it’s future, they only care about milking it for all it is worth.

As for why Russia’s leadership doesn’t want to bring first World people in en masse, the answer is similar to why the communists here in Croatia have sabotaged and continue to sabotage countless billions of foreign investment, just like Croatia’s government couldn’t harass the big foreign foreign companies like they do to the small local ones (plus if the common people become rich as a result of giant foreign investments, both they and the big foreign companies would demand the rule of law, which would mean game over for the crooks who dominate our political scene) if they let them invest serious money here, the Russians couldn’t just expel millions of Germans, Frenchman, Swiss, etc. for no reason after letting them in, and now imagine what would happen if those foreigners made the Russian Far East first world in every sense? The people in European Russia would start wondering why the Russian Far East has a functioning judiciary, low crime rates, low or non-existant corruption, etc., and they don’t, and that would be the end of criminal clique ru(i)n(n)ing Russia, and we can’t have that, can we now?!?

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, but at least the situation in Russia and the direction it is heading in is crystal clear to anyone who does at least basic research about Russia, so they won’t make the mistake of actually moving there, not every country is that clear cut unfortunately.

    • fafc says:

What amazes me is the incredible speed of these changes in the Democrat Party and the country as a whole. 10 years ago no one would have taken any of these things seriously. What is interesting is that the policies of Trump today, which are mostly identical to the policies of Trump 15 years ago, were the policies of the Democrats 15 years ago. Trump hasn’t changed his position on anything, and he was then loved the by the Democrats. Its insane.

      • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, the West (“the West” as defined during the Cold War) has gone completely insane, to be honest, 10 years ago I thought the West would never sink this low, I thought that there would be a slow decline for 50 years or so, after which the people (probably after an economic collapse or something) would say enough is enough and bring Western societies back to complete sanity, but Western societies are already way below the low point I imagined back then, and they seem to be nowhere near hitting the bottom, so my optimism even for the West’s long-term future is gone.

Some nations have been particular dissapointments, for example I used to think that if there was one Western nation that would never become a nation of wusses and degenerates, that it would be the Irish, 10-15 years later they are already World leaders in degeneracy (along with the British, Swedes, etc.).

        • fafc says:

          Strange indeed.

          • Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, maybe it’s all of the chemicals, hormones and other garbage put into a large portion of the “food” supply in those countries? Or something being put in the water supply? If not, then I really can’t think of a logical reason for such a sudden degeneration, propaganda alone can only go so far.

          • fafc says:

Never under-estimate the power of stupid. It is very contagious as well.

  5. Croatian Capitalist says:

Yes, but stupidity as such isn’t the issue here, the majority of people in the vast majority of countries have always been at least somewhat stupid, the problem is that so many of today’s stupid people are off the charts stupid, totally lacking even basic sense on any important issue, once such people become the majority in a democratic country, that country is doomed.

    • fafc says:

Well I think most Western countries have had their “democratic” systems collapse long ago, and what we are really seeing is an oligarchy controlling everything, hiding behind some facades of ‘democracy’. I just hope the oligarchs fight enough among themselves to leave me alone.
