The Power of Betrayal

I have often wondered what has made the modern Westerner so passive, so supine in the face of constant attack on his or her rights and liberties? One suggestion I saw recently that makes a lot of sense is that the West has been infected by Eastern thought which is generally passive in nature. I think there is something to this, but I believe that it is confusing the symptom for the cause. I believe the popularity of Eastern philosophies and ideals have only come into fashion after the fundamental activist nature of Western culture was weakened.

What caused the weakening of Western culture that made it so easy for foreign ideologies and beliefs to seep in and promote passivity and surrender?

Betrayal.

betrayal

Nothing is more disturbing, disorienting, discouraging, and demoralizing than betrayal. It is one thing to be confronted by an enemy whether by force or by guile. But to be defeated because of the betrayal of those who have sworn to love us, defend us, and stand by us that is the most disheartening. That is what robs the bravest person of the courage and motivation to fight on. That is what steals from people their commitment to their traditional ideologies and beliefs.

This website and project “was stimulated as much by frustration with the do-nothing attitude of Conservatives, as by anger at the near total domination of the United States of America by the Radical Left through its total control of the Government, the Political Parties, the Bureaucracy, the Judiciary, the News and Entertainment Media, and the Education System”. Indeed, sometimes I am more angry at do-nothing Conservatives than I am at the actual Leftists who are destroying this country. I suppose that is because at one time I had believed I could trust them to defend American ideals. This faith has proven to be unjustified. They have let me down. They have failed their country, its ideals, its beliefs; they have betrayed this country by their inaction as much as our enemies have betrayed it by action.

Betrayal robs the soul of its hope and thus its courage. Why fight when there is no chance of success? If you cannot trust those who are morally obligated to defend you then who can you trust? Betrayal leaves you feeling isolated and alone, bereft of even the possibility of salvation (at least not in this world).

The above list includes the primary actors in the functioning of a secular society; bureaucrats, politicians, judges and lawyers, journalists, and teachers . This list omits religious leaders. Sadly the religious institutions have mostly betrayed us as well. Most of the protestant sects have abandoned clear doctrines stated in the Bible and have embraced homosexual marriage as well as other things in contravention of Christian dogma. Judaism has mostly done the same. And now the new Pope has essentially declared the Catholic Church to be an instrument of Leftist ideology, abandoning Christians to the worst persecution in over a thousand years, embracing those committing the persecution, and directing the Church to pursue Leftist goals such regulations of carbon dioxide to manage global climate change, reduction of income inequality, the elimination of capitalist influence, etc.

All this is no accident. It has been in the works for at least a century; the intentional infiltration of all the institutions of our secular and religious society by men and women who are committed to its destruction. And it would seem that it has been successful not only bringing our society close to collapse both economically and morally, but it has also succeeded in robbing those who should be defending Western culture and their individual rights and liberties of the courage to take action.

Betrayal. Perhaps the most powerful tool in the arsenal of the Left.

About fafc

The goal of the “Find a Free Country Project” is to research, explore and find a safe and secure free country outside the USA, that is not too large, has a relatively open immigration policy, has a friendly business climate, has a non-intrusive government committed to freedom, and then move to it.

I don’t think that the lack of courage is the only reason for Western inaction (even though it it is probably the biggest one), another thing that I have observed both in real life and from reading people’s thoughts on the internet is that the vast majority of people (even the otherwise intelligent ones) don’t really closely follow what happens in the wider World, so even if they realise that their country is in serious trouble, they think to themselves something like “Even if the USA/Germany/Sweden goes under, I can always move to Australia/New Zealand/Finland (or wherever)”, not realizing that what is happening in their country is also happening throughout the Western World

I suppose I am as guilty of that as anyone. But I actually left. I was not sitting back waiting for someone else to solve my problems. I just gave up. I still hope for change. But I was a Boy Scout. Hope for the Best! Plan for the Worst.

I don’t see a problem with leaving if somebody doesn’t believe things in his country are likely to get better and moves to a country where things are generally going in the right direction (which seems to be the case in your case), my point was aimed at people who’s back-up options are the same or even worse as their country (for example some German who is fed-up with “multiculturalism”, but has for example Australia (a country where “multiculturalism” has been official state policy for decades) as his back-up option, because his view of Australia is based on stereotypes, not well-researched facts).
