A prominent conservative political pundit was uninvited from speaking at Scripps College, in a program designed to promote conservative views on campus, because of his conservative views.
Nationally syndicated columnist George Will was slated to speak at the ninth annual Elizabeth Hubert Malott Public Affairs Program, the mission of which is to bring speakers to campus whose political views differ from the majority of students at the all-women’s college, but had his invitation rescinded after he wrote a column about sexual assault on college campuses…
“There is minimal political diversity at Scripps,” Ramsey said in an email to the Independent. “Not only this, but the minority who have different viewpoints feel uncomfortable sharing their opinions, and there is a culture of exclusion and a lack of acceptance. If Scripps claims to want ‘to develop in its students the ability to think clearly and independently,’ as our founder explained, it should not keep contributing to a culture of exclusion and silence.”
American colleges have become nothing more than crude indoctrination centers that teach very little that is useful, promote a perverted view of life, and wholly fail to produce a “liberal” open minded graduate. I cannot think of a more profound waste of time and money than to send your children to these corrupt institutions.

I understand how this can be done when somebody studies philosophy, art, literature, history, etc., but I doubt that people who study engineering, physics, mathematics, information science, etc. are subject to this “liberal” nonsense.
And that is where you would be wrong. If you are thrown into a sewer, you are going to come out smelling bad. Plus even the sciences have been corrupted. If you had to go to college, I would advise people to only study the sciences (this is coming from a liberal arts graduate), but even this is not a solution. The entire system is corrupted.
Please elaborate, how do they indoctrinate somebody who studies engineering for example? I have a hard time believing that any significant % of teachers in that field are “liberals”, and I don’t know how any college/university (especially the top ranked ones) could get away with making some “liberal” nonsense courses obligatory in such fields.
Here in Croatia only the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb is well known for it’s “liberalism”/leftism, otherwise I don’t think it’s pushed anywhere else (at least as far as Zagreb goes).
Ok. First of all on almost all major colleges in the USA all the faculty and administration have been taken over by the Left, even the sciences. So if you were majoring in a science major or engineering most if not all of your professors would be hard Left fanatics. A good portion of each class would be focused on “social justice” issues instead of science and engineering. (Perhaps this is why foreign trained engineers tend to perform better when hired???) However, if you were able to get teachers who willing to teach science and engineering without filling the class time with Leftist indoctrination and rhetoric, 40% to 60% of your classes are required to be from the “core curriculum” outside of science and engineering. So even the most lucky engineering student would be forced to spend a good portion of his class time in classes wholly committed to socialist indoctrination.
Now that is what happen inside the classroom. That is about 15 hours a week. The rest of the time is spent studying with friends, working on projects that are most likely aimed at socialist indoctrination, and attending social events promoted by the various administration approved clubs on campus. For instance, I suspect it would be very hard to find a college campus where there was not an active and vocal Lesbian and Gay club promoting the joys of gay sex rather than gay rights. Yale and many other schools have a Sex Week where academic matters are essentially set aside and the entire campus turns into a giant orgy party with the administration handing out free condoms and sex toys available for use in public or private. At Harvard they recently established a administration sanctioned club devoted sadomasochism. Now keep in mind if you tried to start a Christian or Jewish prayer center you would be required to move off campus, or if you tried to establish a Fraternity or Sorority based upon Christian ideals rather than sex, drugs, and keg parties, you would be required to leave campus and establish it off site.
Now that isn’t even touching upon the politics that the students are immersed in. Public speakers are constantly coming on campus drilling into the students Leftist political ideals. Your professors are often actively involved in various political activities, and if you want to get a good grade it would be wise to help out the cause with your time and efforts.
If after all this you are not completely indoctrinated, who cares. It would probably be wise for you to keep your mouth shut anyway. For your Leftist friends will shun you if you speak the wrong way. You won’t be invited to parties, you won’t get a girlfriend, and you probably won’t get a job in New York, Boston, Washington DC, San Francisco, etc.
OK, thanks, if all of that is true, then it is no wonder that the big American corporations are lobbying for more skilled immigrant visas to be given out.
Well, the solution then would be to send your kids to a top college/university in a country whose tertiary education system isn’t filled with such nonsense, in European countries for example it would in most cases both take a shorter amount of time to complete (most European countries now have in general 3 year bachelor (it all depends on what you study of course) degrees, as opposed to the 4 year bachelor’s in America, and a Master’s degree in general takes 1 year to complete, as opposed to 2 years in America), and it’s a lot cheaper in Europe in general (especially if you are an EU/EFTA citizen for those interested in studying in EU/EFTA countries), even though in some cases (mostly for study at the Bachelor level) in might be necessary to learn the language (if your child doesn’t already speak it) of the country you are interested in studying in, for example, if somebody wanted to study engineering, I would recommend ETH Zurich in Switzerland, but to study there at at Bachelor level, you need to be fluent in German.
The Ivy League continues to embarrass itself: http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/09/08/brown-university-provide-tampons-mens-bathrooms/
Even ignoring the third World invasion, a country whose future leaders get educated at such places can’t have a bright future.
I just saw that and was about to post it here, but I really don’t care anymore. As long as my kids don’t go to those schools, and they will have to chat with me first unless someone else is going to pay, I don’t really care what these imbeciles do to their children.
Are there even any real universities left in the USA? This kind of idiocy seems to be prevalent throughout the “elite” universities in the Anglo-Irish World.
Yes. There are some good universities out there, and there are some very bad universities out there (oddly enough the higher the reputation the worse they are). The ones in the middle or OK. You can get a useful and affordable education if you pay attention to your goals, apply yourself, and avoid the pitfalls of being surrounded by unmotivated students who get involved in Social Justice in order to avoid their school work, corrupt administrators who need to lure gullible students into pointless departments, and unmotivated professors who feel unappreciated and harassed in a very negative atmosphere. I am trying to explain this to my 14 year old daughter who has been sold on the joys of expanding her consciousness in university. I am encouraging her to instead take a year off and travel the world. Then when she knows what she wants to do, how she wants to get there, she can enroll in the most practical program in the most positive school available, and get what she is looking for. I think of it at this point as getting your ticket punched to get on the train. Don’t look for spiritual fulfillment or answers to all the world’s questions. Just get your degree that you need to do [FILL IN THE BLANK].
I agree, this American notion of college being for “expanding your horizons” or whatever is quite foreign to me and the vast majority of people here, in Croatia you go to college so that you can get a good paying job, that’s it.
Perhaps “expanding your horizons” was the wrong terms. “Finding yourself” is more appropriate. There is a tendency for Americans to go to college without knowing what they want to do when they graduate. In the USA that has worked in the past. Unlike Europe you don’t have to lock yourself into one career path. It can change during and after college. But now I would never advise someone to go to college without a very clear career path and set of goals. They will cheat you blind, indoctrinate you, and give you a useless education in the process.
In any case, all of the Anglo countries and Ireland should be avoided for emigration, countries whose future leaders are getting “educated” at such places obviously have a bleak future, last year students from some of the Ivy League Universities unfortunately visited the place where I vacation, and they make Obama and Biden look good in comparison, that tells me all I need to know about America’s future.
One of the many reasons why I have chosen to leave.

How awesome is that!
Totally! And here is yet another one: http://www.thecollegefix.com/post/29310/
I used to want to do my Master’s degree in either America or England, now I wouldn’t do it if even if I were offered a full scholarship.
Just pathetic.
It truly is, and what is even more pathetic is that people en masse actually go hundreds of thousands of dollars into debt to attend such “universities” and be subjected to such idiocy.
The same kind of idiocy is rampant in British “universities” as well: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3828682/University-considers-banning-National-Anthem-graduation-ceremonies-links-increasing-far-right-nationalism.html
Anyway, the damage these institutions do is not limited to the Anglo countries and Ireland, for example after reading about the introduction of negative interest rates (which is one of the most idiotic ideas in the history of economics) in Japan, I decided to look up on Wikipedia where the people in government studied, and the Japanese government is and was full of people who studied at the various leftist-dominated universities in the USA, so that is another thing to look out for when looking at countries.

Indeed. Why I am so desperate to get out and stay out!
As would I be if I were an American (or if I lived in America).
After actually meeting some of these people (mostly from Columbia University), I realised America’s future will in all likelihood be much worse than I originally thought, so you won’t see me moving to anywhere near the USA.
Sad but true.
Another place to add to the list: http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/751986/Students-ban-white-philosophers-Plato-university-London
Yeah. I saw that. Sad.
Yes, it is sad to see how pathetic education institutions that were once World-leading have become and how the Anglo-Saxons have lost their backbone, a hundred years ago these idiots wouldn’t dare to even think about suggesting something like this, much less going through with it (actually, a hundred years ago they wouldn’t even be accepted as students, since the Anglo universities still had standards back then).

Universities stifle debate as academics lurch to the left: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4273474/Universities-stifle-debate-academics-lurch-left.html#ixzz4aD9XAPaq
I think that the Anglo countries are a lost cause in regards to tertiary education, the places still holding out to leftist domination will probably eventually be forced by law to conform to leftist norms in all respects.
Which brings me to something which might be a good topic for a “Post”, namely which universities will be the preeminent ones in the future (or alternatively where will smart people in the future send their children to study if they decide to study abroad?)? The way things stand now, it will probably be the major universities in East Asia, and maybe the Polish ones if Poland keeps it’s course and manages to successfully navigate the big challenges that the EU’s stupidity has and will cause.
Wow. I have no idea. I suspect what is going to happen is that the entire concept of the University falls into disrepute. Already, many US companies are no longer requiring a college degree as they find that the candidates are no better than those without, and are going to require massive amounts of training re-education regardless of the degree. As a parent I can admit to this: parents are the most regressive in their thoughts about their children. We are always fighting the last war. But as a parent I am very worried. Should I encourage my daughter to go to college, spend a vast amount of money on something that is at best useless and economically unproductive, and at worst an anti-social indoctrination program that could very well stifle rather than encourage her intellectual development??? Or should I encourage her to travel the world, explore her curiosity, develop her own ideas and ambitions?
Also with modern technology, the concept of a centralized brick and mortar University may very well wither away. Why pay for all those expensive buildings and infrastructure when you can get your children better education online, and then get them certified through credible third party testing services. Employers simply do not trust a degree from a university anymore. Whatever degree your child gets, they are going to have to pass a third party test usually administered by the prospective employer. The scary thing will be how these testing programs warp and degrade the education even further as students are drilled even more mercilessly on how to pass tests rather than learn concepts, facts, and develop problem solving skills.
I think we are going to be seeing the death of education as we understand it.

Another “university” to add to the list of places to avoid.
It is really very sad. I graduated from Harvard in 1987, but I would not want my daughter to go to any of the Ivy League schools today. Nor any of the other similar schools like Georgetown, etc. These were premier institutions that quite rightly claimed to be among the best schools in the world. Now they are sad pathetic jokes. There is a slight economic benefit from attending these schools, and getting a normal degree from one of them, but the benefit is far outweighed by the outrageous costs, not to mention the psychological problems faced by attending such a radical propaganda outlet.
Yes, looking at them now, I am glad that I decided against applying for one of their graduate programs back when I was in College studying business, it would have been a giant waste of time and money, instead in the meantime I have bought a quality apartment in a nice area and built up a decent amount of savings.
