I believe this is a fair question. I believe the following is an accurate metaphor for the current electoral choice: the Democrats want to drive off the cliff at 80 miles per hour, and the Republicans want to drive off the cliff at 40 miles per hour. Either way you are destined for the same result: destruction.
Although I agree with this analysis, that the the only difference is that the Republicans will take longer to go off the cliff, this difference is not insignificant.
In my last post I suggested that the only logical options for Conservatives are to either work/fight towards dramatic reforms that serve to restore the Constitutional system that was created to limit government and maximize personal liberty, or to leave/escape and try to find a new country where the American Dream is more likely to flourish.
My choice is the latter since I no longer have faith in the American People to have enough interest let alone courage to even attempt the prior. However, whichever choice you think is best there is one thing you are going to need: TIME.
If you decide like me to leave, you are going to need to order your affairs, select a suitable location, and prepare yourself in whatever ways may be required. For most people this will require some time.
If you choose to stay and try to fix the system, this will require even more time since there is virtually no efforts being taken by anyone to organize and execute such a mission.
Time. It is what we all need more of. Voting Republican will not be voting for effective solutions, but it will be voting to buy some time. What you do with that time will depend upon you.
The Republicans have taken control of the Senate, and won the governor races in Wisconsin, Florida and Michigan, hopefully they will finally pick an actual right-winger as their presidential candidate in 2016 and win the 2016 elections, so that they can from 2017 onwards actually start to fix the country, instead of just delaying it’s decay.
I am happy to see the Republicans win, but only because now I have a bit more time to order my affairs. I don’t trust the Republicans to fix anything, only put things off a bit. Which in my case is just what I needed.
I don’t have much faith in them either, but I am still hoping that if nothing else a sense of self-preservation will kick-in among Republicans, if they don’t fix the immigration policy of the USA, they will be finished as a serious political party.
Not holding my breath. But we can hope as long as we don’t let hope blind us to reality.
The more time goes by, the more I think that the guy who predicted this (http://www.truthinmedia.org/images/Us-2050.jpg) will be proven right.
There are many such dystopian maps out there. The one I would like to see would be an Independent Texas. Then to hell with the rest of them.
here is another one: http://minutemennews.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/2008secession.jpg
Some time ago we had a discussion (which I can’t find now, so I will post what I want to write here) about why most (East) Asian immigrants in America vote for the Democrats (or at least the media claim they do, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just another leftist media lie), even though their values would make the Republican Party the logical choice for them, and I seem to recall you writing that is was the result of socialism being pushed by the media and the universities, and that makes sense, but another theory has crossed my mind, namely that they are in a sense at the national level one-issue voters, with that issue being immigration, namely that they want as many people from their countries arriving to the USA as possible, because that means more money, more political power (and leverage) and more security (think about it, if you were an ethnic Korean living in lets say Detroit or Baltimore, you would want to be surrounded by as many Koreans as possible, wouldn’t you?), and since the Democrats are viewed as being pro-immigration and the Republicans not so much, they vote for the Democrats because they believe that the Democrats will keep the borders open for mass immigration from Asia.
What do you think?
No doubt there is an aspect of cultural unity that works there, but Republicans have been the traditional party of immigration aspiration, and Democrats have been the party of unions and socialists who want to keep low wage foreigners from taking all their jobs. I think at this point it is simply what they come from: cultures that favor centralized government over personal freedom. Asians work very hard and want to make money, but they also favor a Strong Man in charge of things. Indians and Chinese are clearly pro-centralized government and have a profound distrusts of smaller units of government. They look at the Big Brother as their savior. Latinos also do the same. When you allow people to immigrate to your country from cultures that have a natural preference for a strong centralized government, and you fail to teach their children the core lessons of the original basis of the American government, you are going to have people voting Democrat because they are more fascist than the Republicans. But not by much.
Makes sense, I just looked it up and saw that the vast majority of Republicans voted for the Hart–Celler Act, so it appears that they have been on board with the transformation of America since the start.
The Republicans cannot be trusted. They say one thing, do another.
Yes, and even if that weren’t so, they are still going to become permanently unelectable once amnesty is passed for the third World illegals, which will likely happen soon.
